Higher Tier GCSE Maths

My Primary Focus

  • Prepare my student primarily through past paper practice and working on weaker topics.

  • I will make a custom set of Revision Notes for your child that will be incredibly beneficial for their exam preparation.

  • Make sure that the student is so used to doing past papers that the exam will not be as stressful. 

Experience in this area

  • This is my absolute favourite subject to teach since so much progress can be made. Not just in terms of grade attainment but also in terms of confidence, enjoyment of Maths and work ethic.  

  • In the past 5 years, I have taught a large number of children taking GCSE Maths in Oxford, London and Online; seeing many differences in terms of ability, confidence, interests and needs.

Different Approaches for those ...

Struggling with Maths

  • Initially, my aim is to clear up every topic and have notes on all of them to refer back to. Then we will be using a large number of  past papers to prepare for the exam and gradually improve their grade.

  • If low confidence in Maths and disliking Maths are issues too, then I would really like to work on those as well. Generally by keeping the learning process fun and giving a lot of positive feedback and encouragement. 

With a few weak topics

  • I teach checking techniques that aren't taught in schools that your child can use to check every single question after completing the exam with time remaining.

  • My main aims are to clear up any weak areas of Maths and then move on to cover a large number of past papers with a great set of revision notes to ensure a great grade is achieved.

  • Making sure your child becomes more confident and comfortable with Maths and rise to the top of their class.

Excelling in Maths

  • I teach checking techniques that aren't taught in schools that your child can use to check every single question after completing the exam with time remaining.

  • To ensure your child achieves a 9, I use a large number of past papers along with a set of custom Revision Notes.

  • I  also help with taking exams early or adult learning.
